Membership
HOW
At SouthPoint, we believe your heart for God can be known by where you invest your time, talents and resources. This is how you become a member of SouthPoint. We don't do membership cards. We don't accept membership transfer letters. We don't ask you to drink the Kool-aid. We simply ask that you give of your time (attend gatherings on Sunday and during the week), your talents (volunteer on a team) and your resources (give monetarily through tithes and offerings).
WHEN
If you have not already done so, please feel free to come to the "Access" meeting at Pastor Craig and Patti's home. It is on the second Sunday evening of the month at 6:00 pm. We'll hang out and talk for about an hour and you'll leave knowing everything there is to know.
Volunteering
WHY
SouthPoint is a volunteer-run church. What does that mean? Well, that means that everything that you see in our building is delivered on Sunday morning in a 36-foot trailer, unloaded, set-up and prepared for our gathering. Then when it's all over, it is torn down, packed up and put back in that same 36-foot trailer and taken back to storage.
"That's a lot of work," you might say. ABSOLUTELY, we would answer. But there is an old German proverb that says "Many hands make light work". We believe that being involved on a volunteer team is essential to making SouthPoint who we are - both to get the work accomplished and to build relationships at the same time.
Once a month, we host an "Access" meeting at Pastor Craig and Pattis home. At this function, you will get more information on the inner-workings of SouthPoint, including the volunteer opportunities. But before you come to that, feel free to pick up a VOLUNTEER card from the Resource Area. That will give you all the information needed to make an informed decision on where to invest your time and talents.
